Flowers are often mentioned in the Bible as a sign of growth, relating to how God takes care of them. 1 Peter 1:24-25 illustrates the significance of flowers in a different way, by comparing them to humans:
"All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever."
Peter is reminding all Christians that our time on Earth is temporary, and the glory we may get will fade. He does this to emphasize that ALL that matters is Jesus and the words He spoke to us! His words will never fade away, like the flowers, so we can depend and rely on them as we walk throughout our days.
